The Kiwanis Club of Brownwood would like to invite the community, business leaders and interested citizens to their club meeting on Thursday, January 29th at the Brownwood Country Club to hear guest speaker US Representative August Pfluger. The meeting will begin at noon and is open to the community. Please RSVP to 325 642 9301.
Serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman August Pfluger proudly represents 20 counties in Texas’s 11th Congressional District – the best district in Congress – including Brownwood, Killeen, Llano, Midland, Odessa, and San Angelo.
In the 119th Congress, Congressman Pfluger serves as Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) – after being elected by his colleagues to lead the largest caucus of conservatives on Capitol Hill, representing a historic 189 members. He also serves on the influential House Energy and Commerce Committee and as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence.
Earlier this year, August became the first Member of Congress to chair the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors, after previously serving as a board member appointed by the Speaker of the House. As Chairman, he plays a critical role in shaping the next generation of Air Force leaders.
August’s top priority in Congress is fighting for his constituents by bringing Texas values and common sense to Washington, while also delivering gold-standard constituent services. This year, he was selected as the Congressional Management Foundation’s 2025 Democracy Award winner for Best of Constituent Correspondence and Outreach.
Before his time in Congress, August graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and served over two decades in uniform as a decorated fighter pilot and squadron commander, including two deployments to Syria and Northern Iraq. He later served on the United States National Security Council (NSC) during President Trump’s first presidency and continues to serve as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
As a seventh-generation Texan, August grew up in San Angelo, where he lives today with his wife, Camille, and their three daughters. He is a conservative Republican, a proud husband and father, and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
