Eastland County Today posted on its Facebook page Friday afternoon that Cody Pritchard was found guilty in Eastland County courts and received the death penalty as prescribed by law for shooting and killing Eastland County Deputy David Bosecker. Pritchard was taken into custody by the Eastland County Sheriff Office’s to be transported to a facility.

Pritchard was charged with Capital Murder of a Peace Officer in the fatal shooting of Bosecker on July 21, 2023.

According to multiple media reports, Bosecker arrived on scene for a domestic fight call at a residence between Rising Star and Cisco back in the summer of 2023 and immediately began receiving gunfire from the suspect. Bosecker was struck and fatally wounded. Other units arriving were able to apprehend the suspect and no one else was injured.
