Gary Don Edwards

Gary Don Edwards, 78, of Brownwood, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 26, 1947, in Effingham, Illinois, to Claud and Mary Crum Edwards. Gary graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1965.

Gary was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need. Gary had a passion for fixing things, restoring old cars, and playing games with his grandkids. A true jack of all trades, he took pride in working with his hands and sharing his skills with others.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Edwards of Brownwood; his son, Greg Edwards and wife Amanda of Allen, Texas; and his cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Noah, and Samantha. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Edwards and wife Jayne, David Edwards and wife Rita, all of Illinois; his sisters, Joan Myers and Brenda Beck of Illinois, and Joyce Edwards of Alabama; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Mary Edwards, and his brothers, Jim and Kenny Edwards.

Visitation will be Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:00pm at Blaylock Funeral Home, Brownwood.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Blaylock Funeral Home, Brownwood. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Arrangements are in charge of Blaylock Funeral Home.
