Aneta Massey Trowbridge was born on March 7, 1943, to Earl and Elnora Massey. On January 13, 2026, she entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior and was joyfully reunited with the love of her life, Arlis Burl Trowbridge. We’re certain that upon their reunion, she made him dinner and he promptly told her exactly how to do it. Aneta and Arlis Burl were married on June 1, 1963, and shared 36 blissful years of marriage together.

She publicly professed her faith in the Lord through baptism on October 18, 2020, a decision that meant a great deal to her.

Throughout her life, Aneta worked many jobs in the service industry, where her friendly nature and gift of conversation served her well. Her final place of employment was Walmart, where she retired after 15 years of dedicated service.

Aneta never met a stranger. She loved to talk and was always the last one to finish a meal because she was too busy enjoying conversation with family and friends. She loved gardening, being outdoors, and was always up for an adventure whether that meant feeding cows or floating the river. Elvis Presley was undoubtedly one of her greatest loves, second only to her family. She was active in the Red Hat Society and cherished her time and friendships at the Brownwood Senior Citizens Center. Above all else, Aneta loved her family fiercely and unconditionally.

She is survived by her siblings: Roy Massey of San Angelo, Earlene Maples of the Metroplex, and Gary Massey of Brownwood, her children Jimmy and Angela Trowbridge of Brownwood, Danny and Shyla Trowbridge of Brownwood, and Tommy and Melinda Trowbridge of Merkel, her grandchildren Courtney and Wes McMillian of Brownwood, Jared Trowbridge of Brownwood, Danny and Kaitlyn Trowbridge of Santa Anna, Darlene Trowbridge of Merkel, Elizabeth and Armando Villarreal of Brownwood, and Tommy (Bryan) Trowbridge of Stephenville, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Aneta was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elnora Massey; her husband, Arlis Burl Trowbridge; her sisters, Sharon Vanhuss and Lillie Locke; and her brothers, Loyd Massey and Wayne Massey.

Aneta leaves a void that can never be filled and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Brownwood.

Arrangements are under the directions of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
