Nakita Brittly Diane Franklin, 34, of Brownwood, passed away on January 4, 2026. She was born on January 31, 1991, in Brownwood to Gary Franklin and Tina Crawford.

Nakita was a graduate of Premier High School and was a devoted and loving mother. She will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, warm smile, and gentle heart. Nakita was sweet, kind, and compassionate, always showing love and care to those around her. Her presence brought comfort and joy to her family and friends, and her memory will forever remain in their hearts.

Nakita is survived by her two sons, Braylon Chairez and Gavin Nelson of Brownwood; her mother, Tina Crawford; brothers Brant Villapando of Brownwood, Bryce Gutierrez of Brownwood, and Chason Lee Franklin of Brownwood; and her sister, Danika Franklin of Brownwood. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Journey Chairez; her son, Kannon Nelson; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her father, Gary Franklin.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.
