MT Food Group LLC, a Texas-based multi-unit restaurant ownership and operating company, has announced the recent acquisition of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop locations in Stephenville, Grapevine, and Burleson, continuing the group’s expansion across North Texas under experienced leadership with deep ties to the brand.

MT Food Group is led by Matthew McCrane, a Brownwood native and former NFL and UFL player, alongside operating partner Travis Taylor, who brings more than 15 years of experience within the Fuzzy’s Taco Shop system. McCrane also has firsthand operational experience with Fuzzy’s, having been directly involved in the operation of the Brownwood location during his professional football career.

“For me, this wasn’t just about acquiring restaurants, it was about continuing a local legacy. Having spent my career in professional football, I know the importance of strong teams and strong communities, and our focus is on strengthening that connection while delivering an even better guest experience.”

Taylor’s extensive background with Fuzzy’s includes years of store-level and leadership experience, providing MT Food Group with a strong operational foundation.

“Fifteen years inside the Fuzzy’s system teaches you what works and what doesn’t,” Taylor said. “Our focus is simple: strong teams, consistent execution, and a community connection.”

The acquisitions in Stephenville, Grapevine, and Burleson align with MT Food Group’s long-term vision to responsibly grow within the fast-casual restaurant space while maintaining the culture and consistency guests expect from the Fuzzy’s Taco Shop brand.
