WACO – The Brownwood Lions basketball team wrapped up pre-district action Friday night with a 70-51 loss at Class 5A Waco High.

The Lions (10-11), who start their District 6-4A slate at home against Stephenville on Friday, Jan. 16, trailed Waco High (8-14) by a 16-14 count after one quarter, 37-30 at halftime and 54-47 through three periods.

Leading the way offensively for Brownwood were Cannon Calvert with 19 points, Durham Brown with 11, Carson Noe with eight, Elias Perez with six, Santiago Alvizo, Jordan Gilbert, and Aaron Clevinger with two points apiece, and Judson Coalson with one point.
