
FORT WORTH – The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team extended its win streak to five matches after coming out on top in its first two outings at the Fort Worth Castleberry tournament Friday.
The Lady Lions completed the opening day in dramatic fashion, rallying from a deficit with two goals in the final eight minutes for a 2-1 victory over host Castleberry.
Alayna Hernandez, unassisted, and Kynlie Lewis, with an assist from Kynlee Jefferson, produced the tying and winning goals in the closing moments for Brownwood.
Earlier in the day, the Lady Lions kicked off tournament action with a 5-0 triumph over Kennedale.
Brownwood received goals from Hernandez, Madison Weckwerth, Ailean Palacios, Autumn Reeves, and Amerie De La Paz.
The Lady Lions (5-1) conclude tournament action at 9:45 a.m. Saturday against Fort Worth Western Hills.
