
The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:
- On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 1330 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Steven Trevino, was dispatched about an Assault which could be handled by phone call. The complainant stated he was assaulted approximately one year ago by a male suspect in Brown County. The complainant could not file the assault sooner, due to medical complications and being in the hospital. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 06:58 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to County Road 234, Brown County, Texas, 76801 for an accident. While investigating the accident, I located a 2011 brown Chevrolet Impala, on County Road 234, which did not have any license plates on the vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Brownwood. The vehicle was towed to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at approximately 0817 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Steven Trevino was dispatched to Valley Vista Drive, Early, Texas regarding a Hit and Run. The complainant stated his property was damaged the night before in a hit and run incident. There were vehicle parts scattered on the ground where the owner’s property was damaged. The area was searched but no vehicle was found matching the description. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at approximately 1053 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Steven Trevino was dispatched to Waco Street regarding a Theft. The property owner advised a female subject was evicted and took items not belonging to her. The same female was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 11:17 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke #139 was dispatched to Tall Oak Dr. in the Oak Point Subdivision in reference to a grass fire. Numerous fire units were dispatched to the fire, due to the heavily wooded area. Approximately 5 acres were burned. The property owner, identified as Daniel Park, Jr., stated he was burning a brush pile when it got out of control. Park stated he was aware of the burn ban and started the burn anyway. Information was gathered, and Park received a citation for violation of the burn ban. A report was completed.
- On 01/07/2026, at approximately 1818 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted by dispatch regarding Theft of a Motor Vehicle at FM 3100, Brownwood, Texas 76801. Deputy Reigle spoke with Charlie Cabler, who stated Jeffrey Beck and Michael Ross Burnett Jr. stole a bumper-pull camper. A report was made and evidence was collected for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations.
- On 1/7/26, at approximately 1805 hours, Deputy Hopson responded to CR 467/Highway 279 for a Dangerous Dog report. I contacted Makia Carouth, who advised she was in fear Dustin Balboa’s dogs were going to attack her.
- On 01/07/2025, at approximately 1605 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle and Brown County Deputy Sheriff Michel Wilson were notified by dispatch regarding a Domestic Disturbance at County Road 180, Bangs, Texas 76801. When deputies arrived, it was learned Gary Michael Gorman was intoxicated and had assaulted his daughter after a verbal dispute. Gorman was placed under arrest and released into the custody of the Brown County Jail.
