
The Texas Comptroller’s Office released the January Sales Tax Allocations this week. Sales taxes in all three cities in Brown County were higher than January 2025. The January sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in November 2025. Details below.
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $585,998, an increase of 7.92% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2025 – January 2026) the City of Brownwood has received $2,499,950, up 8.77% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $196,052, an increase of 8.81% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $814,735, up 8.47% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
EARLY
The City of Early received $206,284, an increase of 25.11% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the City of Early has received $833,698, up 15.11% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $68,341, an increase of 25.61% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $274,828, up 15.63% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $23,745, an increase of 12.04% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the City of Bangs has received $112,924, up 15.98% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,693, an increase of 11.94% over January 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $13,899, up 6.70% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
