Texas voter registration cards used last year expired on December 31, 2025. New cards effective January 1, 2026 will be issued, but are currently awaiting approval from the State of Texas. Brown County Elections Administrator Brenda Arp issued the following statement.
Update on Voter Registration Cards
The Brown County Election office has been receiving a lot of inquiries about the delay in receiving new voter registration cards. We would like to reassure our voters that the new cards have been updated and are ready to be processed; however, we are currently awaiting approval from the Secretary of State’s office.
The Secretary of State has recently implemented a new version of (TEAM) for election officials and is still working through some technical issues. The Elections Office appreciates your patience and understanding during this time. We will mail the voter registration cards as soon as we receive authorization to do so.
In the meantime, please note that Brown County is county wide voting and you are eligible to vote at any polling location in Brown County on election day or at the Brown County Elections office during Early voting as long as you present a valid photo identification.
If you have any questions or want to confirm that you are registered, please feel free to call our office at 325-646-4333.
