Central Texas Farm Credit announces 2026 scholarship to empower future agricultural leaders

EARLY ― Central Texas Farm Credit is pleased to announce the opening of the 2026 scholarship season, offering significant financial support to high school seniors committed to pursuing agriculture-related degrees. This year, five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students residing within Central Texas Farm Credit’s 19-county territory.

“Investing in our region’s youth is investing in our community’s future,” said Zach May, CEO of Central Texas Farm Credit. “Our 2026 scholarships not only help students pursue their educational goals but also support the agricultural foundations that keep our rural communities thriving.”

Who Can Apply

  • Graduating high school seniors planning on attending a two-year, four-year or trade school
  • Residents of the cooperative’s 19county service area
  • Children or grandchildren of Central Texas Farm Credit directors or employees are not eligible

Scholarship Details

  • Five one-time scholarships, each worth $2,000
  • Award payments are made directly to the recipient’s college or university upon verification of enrollment

Applicants must submit all items electronically to https://centraltexasfarmcredit.com/scholarship-application/

  1. Completed application form
  2. Official high school transcript
  3. High-resolution digital headshot (JPEG format)
  4. One-page, doublespaced essay titled “How I plan to make a positive impact on the agricultural industry.”

Selection Criteria & Notification

  • Judged on academic performance (GPA, ACT/SAT scores), quality of essay, and extracurricular involvement including community service and agricultural activities
  • All application materials must be submitted by March 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
