Doris Smith

Doris Smith, while surrounded by her loving family, passed to the arms of her Lord Jesus in her home at Glen Cove, Texas on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 8:36am at the age of 75 years.
She was born Doris Jean Vandver on October 18, 1950, in Corsicana, Texas to her devoted parents Dewey Lee and Mary Katherine Perkins Vandver.  Doris was raised in Princeton, Texas where she attended school and graduated from Princeton High School.
On October 7, 1966, Doris married her soul mate and love Herbert Lee Smith in Princeton, Texas and celebrated 54 years of this union. Herbert preceded her in death in 2020.
Doris has been a resident of Coleman since 2008 and was a member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed many crafts and growing and working with flowers and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She was a construction secretary helping run their business until her retirement.
Survivors 2 Daughters Sissy and husband Charles Ausmus of Glen Cove, Texas; Brenda and husband Mikey Ables of Glen Cove, Texas; Son Jesse Smith of Glen Cove, Texas; Sister Shirley Smith of Princeton, Texas; Brother Dewey and wife Amy Vandver of Honey Grove, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, great grandson, sister and brother.
Services for Doris Smith will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at Glen Cove Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Sherman Morton officiating, interment will follow. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 till 7:00pm at Henderson Funeral Home in Coleman. Services under the direction and care of Henderson Funeral Home Staff.
