Robert “Rob” Lee McKissack Jr., 55, of Brookesmith, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Brookesmith, TX. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
 
Robert was born on March 2, 1970, in Stamford, Texas, to Robert Lee McKissack Sr. and Susan McKissack. He graduated from Brownwood High School in Brownwood, TX. Robert dedicated many years of his life to the auto glass industry, working for Brownwood Glass and Alignment for 14 years and accumulating a total of 19 years of experience in the field.

Robert had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, swimming, and especially barbecuing with friends and family. He looked forward to the World Championship BBQ Goat Cook Off, better known as the Goat Roast, held annually in Brady, Texas. He was a man of great physical strength, but it was Pastor Kelly’s sermons at New Beginnings Church that strengthened his faith and brought him encouragement and peace. While he cherished time with all his family and friends, fatherhood was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Time spent with his son meant more to him than anything else. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee McKissack Sr.; his brother, Daniel Lee McKissack; and his nephew, Jaxon Hoedebeck.
 
Robert is survived by his loving mother, Susan McKissack; his son, Izack Lee McKissack; his sisters, Frances McKissack and Nancy McKissack; his nephews, Dwight and Charity Hoedebeck, Scott and Sylvia Hoedebeck, Mi’kel Cade, and Davion Cade; his grand-niece, Mykah Hoedebeck; his grand-nephews, Noah Hoedebeck, Lincoln Hoedebeck, and Theo Hoedebeck; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
