The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of December 17:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
No report provided this week.
LAKE CISCO
- GOOD. Water normal stain; 56 degrees; 16.27 feet above pool. Cooler weather and passing fronts have brought north winds and occasional light rain to Lake Cisco, making conditions a bit tougher but still producing fish. Catfish remain the most consistent bite, with anglers catching good numbers on cut shad and punch bait around creek channels. Crappie action is slowly improving on brush and timber in 12-20 feet using minnows. Bass reports are light, but a few are moving shallow on warmer afternoons and hitting spinnerbaits and squarebills around rocks. Wind can make the lake choppy, so use caution.
LAKE COLEMAN
- SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 3.03 feet below pool. Bass are fair to 3 pounds on small finesse worms in 10-15 feet of water. Crappie good to 2 pounds on jigs and minnows in 10-15 feet of water on the main lake docks and in the timber towards the creek.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
- FAIR. Water stained; 54 degrees; 19.03 feet below pool. Black bass fair to 5 pounds with underspins, swimbaits, finesse jigs and green pumpkin, or Alabama rig with 3.25 inch swimbaits in 8-18 feet of water. Fishing best from Leaday back toward the dam in the cleaner water. The upper end of the lake is slow for bass. Crappie are slow with few reports around deeper trees on river channels ledges around Bull Hollow and Elm Creek. Minnows working best. White bass on jigging spoons 30-40 feet on ridges from the dam back toward Ranger Cove. Catfish fair near Concho Park boat ramp. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.
LAKE PROCTOR
- FAIR. Water stained; 54 degrees; 2.43 feet below pool. Crappie are on ledges in 18-21 feet. Bass have moved to deep ledges. Catfish have moved deep to 18-21 feet. Blue catfish to 54 pounds have been caught. Hybrids are in the upper end of the lake main river channel. The winter pattern has arrived. Report Juan Tienda, local angler.
