
AUSTIN – The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets improved to 10-3 on the season Tuesday, establishing a new season-high in points in a 119-117 non-conference road victory over Concordia.
Trailing 57-52 at halftime, the Yellow Jackets outscored Concordia 67-60 in the second half.
Howard Payne shot 59 percent (48 of 82) from the floor, 42 percent (8 of 19) from the three-point arc, and 56 percent (15 of 27) at the free throw line.
Armonie Ramey finished with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Ben Phillip with 23 points, Jordan McClendon with 18, Trey Jackson with 17, Braylon Crosby with 14, Nathan Scott with 11, Avant Coleman with eight, Jackson Tomlin with three, and Will Jefferson with one point.
Concordia (6-2) shot 47 percent (41 of 87) from the field, as Joey Ramirez scored a game-high 31 points.
Howard Payne will return to action on Monday, Dec. 29, when it travels to Buena Vista University.
