The Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center and Visit Brownwood, in partnership with the City of Brownwood, announce the launch of Yuletide Express: A Vintage Christmas Journey, a new annual holiday event beginning this year. The event will be held on Saturday, December 13th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center.
The inaugural Yuletide Express will feature a variety of holiday activities and experiences for attendees. As part of this year’s event, Brownwood will also be formally recognized by the Texas Music Office as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community. The designation will be acknowledged during the event with live music from local musicians.

The event will also include:

    • Live Christmas music featuring the Cadillac Thieves.
    • A special engine, on loan for one evening from the Texas Southwestern Railroad (TSRR), will be available for attendees to ride.
    • Guests will present their event ticket inside the museum gallery to have it punched by a ticket-puncher.
    • Face painting, balloon animals, Christmas crafts, photo booth and a chocolate-covered marshmallow & strawberry station will be available for families.
    • Santa will be on-site and available for photos.
    • Hot chocolate will be served by the Brownwood Fire Department.
“We are thrilled to merge the celebration of Brownwood’s new Music Friendly Texas designation with the launch of our exciting new Christmas experience,” said Ray Tipton, City of Brownwood, Deputy City Manager. “It will be a great event for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
Admission is $7 for ages 5 and up and includes museum admission, one mini train ride, and hot chocolate. Active military members will receive free admission upon presenting a valid military ID at entry.
The Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center is located at 700 E. Adams St.
