
BURNET – The No. 13 Brownwood Lady Lions improved to 11-3 on the season with a 44-28 victory over the Burnet Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions (11-3), winners of three games in a row for the third time this season, came out on top despite shooting 31 percent (17 of 54) from the field, 13 percent (2 of 15) on three-pointers, and 50 percent (8 of 16) at the free throw line.
Brownwood did record 24 steals, while committing 14 turnovers and grabbing just eight rebounds.
The Lady Lions were in front 16-6 after one quarter, 26-18 at halftime, and 33-21 heading to the fourth period.
Nylah Hall again led the Lady Lions with 11 points trailed by eight from Jentry Coalson, seven from Icess Hall, six from Jade Morin, four from Demayha Hooker, three from Jaidyn Hope, two points each from Hannah Deen and Abby Brasher, and one point from Trinity Roberts.
Brownwood is back in action at 6:15 p.m. Friday as it plays host to Hamilton.
