Doug Jester, a lifelong Brown County resident, Bangs High School graduate, U.S. Army combat helicopter pilot, and experienced county roads leader, announces his candidacy for Brown County Commissioner, Precinct 4, in the 2026 Republican Primary.
Jester brings a distinguished 28-year military career, a Business Management degree, and nearly a decade of hands-on county roads and infrastructure experience. Since 2017, he has served in Brown County Precinct 3, including the last five years as the Road & Bridge Crew Foreman. In this role, he has earned the respect of his team and local residents through dependable leadership, responsible resource management, and a practical understanding of the county’s infrastructure needs.
“Brown County is my home—always has been,” said Jester. “I’ve spent my life serving our country, and now I’m committed to serving our community. Our Precinct deserves strong leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and makes decisions based on what’s best for our families, our roads, and our future.”
Jester’s priorities for the Commissioner’s Office include:
• Strengthening road and bridge maintenance with accountable, efficient operations
• Supporting conservative, responsible budgeting and taxpayer stewardship
• Increasing transparency and communication with residents
• Advocating for rural community needs and long-term infrastructure planning
• Ensuring safe, well-maintained roads that support families, agriculture, and local business
His campaign emphasizes his lifelong connection to Brown County, his decades of service, and his commitment to fairness, teamwork, and conservative principles.
“After 28 years as a combat helicopter pilot, I learned the value of discipline, accountability, and leadership,” Jester added. “My experience in the military and in Precinct 3 has prepared me to make smart, responsible decisions that benefit the people of Precinct 4 and protect the county we all love.”
