Milford Dale Dodson, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2025. Born December 17, 1949, to his parents Mary Jo Dodson and Roy Milford Dodson in Brownwood, TX. He grew up in Brownwood/Early, TX with his three younger sisters, Nonnie, Patty, and Gail.

Dale attended Early High School where he played football and ran track and graduated the class of 1969.

Dale married the love of his life, Patsy (Bowden) Dodson in the summer of 1969 on July 5th. Together they had two daughters, Amie and Lisa. Dale worked for 45 years at Superior Essex in Brownwood and retired in 2014.

Dale was a man defined by his hard work and his love for his family. He committed his life to providing for and spending time with his family and being someone you could depend on. A man of many talents, Dale was a true master woodworker. Whether he built a much-requested tree house for his children, swing sets for his grandchildren or beautiful picture frames and shelves, his hands crafted more than just furniture; they created cherished heirlooms, including dollhouses and rocking horses, each a tangible expression of his love.

A favorite past time, Dale loved to pick on his guitar and sing a little “honky tonk man.” He was also known for his exceptional attention to detail in his yard, cultivating a beautiful lawn and planting vibrant flowers for all to enjoy.

Dale found his greatest pleasure in the outdoors, particularly fishing, boating, and camping with his family. It was here, so many wonderful memories were made; and he cultivated a love of fishing in his daughters and grandchildren, ensuring they too knew the joy of landing a monster bass.

He will be profoundly missed by his loving family and all who were blessed to know him. We take comfort in knowing he is in the presence of our Lord Jesus.

Dale was proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Dodson, father Roy Milford Dodson, and sister, Nonnie Jo.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Dodson, daughter Amie Cheek and husband Thomas, daughter Lisa Perry and husband Jay, Sisters Patricia Wilson and Gail Stafford. Grandchildren, Katie Townsend and husband Jaden, Sarah Varner and husband Colton, Zachary Perry, Caleb Perry, Emily Perry, Brianna Cheek, Skylar Cheek, Dale Cheek and great grandchildren Paisley Townsend and Tyler Townsend as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, December 8, 2025, at Blaylock Funeral Home, Brownwood, Texas.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm, December 9, 2025, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel, Brownwood with interment following at Eastlawn Cemetery, Early, Texas.

To honor of Dale’s memory, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in place of flowers.

Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood in charge of arrangements.
