May Tigers 64, Bluff Dale 38

HUCKABAY – The May Tigers moved to 2-0 on the season with a 64-38 victory Thursday morning at Bluff Dale in their first game at the Huckabay tournament.

May led 17-2 after one quarter, 34-13 at halftime, and 48-29 after three periods.

The Tigers received 22 points from Kobey Morris, 13 from Tyran Perry, 12 from Brody Stice, nine from Jackson Lusk, six from Mikey Scheriger, and two points from Kaden Watkins.

May will face Garner at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Covington at 6:30 p.m. Friday to conclude pool play.

May Lady Tigers 85, Bluff Dale 4

May Lady Tigers 75, Jonesboro 39

HUCKABAY – The May Lady Tigers rolled to a pair of Thursday victories at the Huckabay tournament, downing Bluff Dale and Jonesboro.

In an 85-4 victory over Bluff Dale, the Lady Tigers led 20-0 after one quarter, 48-3 at halftime, and 66-3 through three periods.

Scoring for May were Jordyn Gerhardt with 24 points, Chloe Lord with 23, Cortney Harper with 10, McKenna Landes and Lauren Hicks with nine apiece, Aubree Gerhardt with eight, and Callee Harper with two points.

In a 75-39 triumph over Jonesboro, the Lady Tigers were in front 23-14 after one quarter, 38-19 at halftime, and 58-28 through three quarters.

May received 39 points from Jordyn Gerhardt, 15 from Lord, eight from Hicks, five from Cortney Harper, four from Aubree Gerhardt, and two points apiece from Landes and Callee Harper.

The Lady Tigers will next face Strawn at 11 a.m. Friday,

Blanket Tigers 73, Brookesmith Mustangs 17

ROCHELLE – The Blanket Tigers improved to 4-0 on the season with a 73-17 victory over the Brookesmith Mustangs Thursday at the Rochelle tournament.

Blanket led 23-9 after one quarter, 45-10 at halftime, and 63-12 through three periods.

The Tigers received 16 points from Mason Beck, 15 points from Leo Valdes, 10 points from Kannon Kensing, eight points from both Karter Keel and Brian Shannon, six from Alex Valdes, four from Weston Chism, and two points apiece from Albert Espinosa, Wyatt Meadow and Cole Furry.

The Mustangs were led by 11 points from Austin Loyd and six points from Addy Heard.

Blanket will next face Sidney at 4 p.m. Friday.

Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 59, Munday 35

Menard 34, Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 33

BAIRD – The Zephyr Lady Bulldogs split their first two contests at the Baird tournament, defeating Munday, 59-35, and falling to Menard, 34-33.

In the win over Munday, Zephyr led 19-4 after one period, 40-21 at halftime, and 51-25 through three quarters.

Calyn Kubin paced the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points along with 18 from Avery Stevens, eight from Kenlyn King, seven from Riley Hood, three from Kirstan King, and two points each from Hobson and Simpson.

In the loss to Menard, Zephyr trailed 11-7 after one period, 17-16 at halftime, but led 30-22 heading to the fourth quarter.

Stevens scored 20 points for the Lady Bulldogs followed by five each from Kenlyn King and Kubin, and three points from Hood.

The Lady Bulldogs will next face Irion County at 11 a.m. Friday.

Brookesmith Lady Mustangs 37, Blanket Lady Tigers 27

ROCHELLE – The Brookesmith Lady Mustangs held off the Blanket Lady Tigers, 37-27, in opening round action at the Rochelle tournament Thursday.

Brookesmith led 5-4 after one quarter, 14-11 at halftime, and 25-20 through three periods.

The Lady Mustangs received 23 points from Ameriah Balleza, eight points from Brooklyn Haby, three points from Chloe Dye and one point from Payton Isbell.
