
The Brownwood Fire Department issued the following press release Thursday night:
The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 3703 ½ US 377 in Brownwood at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Upon arrival, crews were presented with a large amount of smoke and fire coming from the building. All occupants had excited the structure and were accounted for accounted for upon the FD arrival.
The fire was located in the manufacturing area of the building; fire crews were able to control the fire quickly using pre connected hose lines. The structure sustained moderate fire damage, with smoke damage noted throughout the entire building. No occupants or fire personnel suffered any injuries.
Investigation revealed that fire was accidental in nature and the improper use of a heating appliance and poor manufacturing processes contributed to the fire start.
The fire cause an estimated $100,000 in damages.
It took 11 minutes to get the fire under control and units were on the scene an hour and 18 minutes.
