ROC President Draco Miller Jr. loads a free food box in a vehicle during the 2024 event

Revitalizing Our Community (ROC) is again bringing a Holiday Blessing to the community. For the second year in a row, ROC along with sponsors Wal-Mart, United Supermarket, Brookshire’s, A Breath of Praise Church, Hardwick Nursery, Draco’s Janitorial, Awaken Church, and Aldersgate Enrichment Center, want to ensure families in need have something to eat for the holiday season.

ROC will be giving away free food baskets to anyone in need. Just pull up and the basket will be placed in the vehicle. No registration needed, baskets will be on a first come first serve, until supplies last. Limit one basket per family, per vehicle.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the old Kings Grocery at 711 Third Street and last until supplies are gone.

ROC President Draco Miller Jr. said, “We are grateful to live in a community where people and businesses care. Thank you to all of our sponsors who without hesitation, said “yes” to helping. This has been a tough year with prices soring, we never want families to go without food, we are blessed to be a blessing. We love our community and are glad to help anyway we can. We also want to thank the other organizations for stepping up and feeding the community during the holiday season as well. That’s great community spirit.”
