Stephanie L. Jester, a second-generation Bangs High School graduate and highly experienced financial and human resources professional, announces her candidacy for Brown County Treasurer in the 2026 Republican Primary.

With more than a decade of experience in payroll management, budgeting, HR compliance, personnel oversight, audit preparation, and organizational operations, Jester brings a well-rounded and deeply qualified background to the Treasurer’s Office. Her career has been built on improving internal controls, strengthening financial accuracy, and ensuring that organizations remain compliant, transparent, and accountable.

Jester has held key leadership roles—including Director of HR/Business Manager for a Texas school district and Assistant Director of Operations for a national university—where she managed multimillion-dollar budgets, streamlined financial systems, oversaw HR procedures, improved record-keeping, and ensured compliance with state and federal regulations. Her dual expertise in financial operations and HR safeguards allows her to approach the Treasurer’s role with precision, discipline, and a strong commitment to ethical stewardship.

“The Treasurer’s Office must operate with unquestionable accuracy, transparency, and accountability. I’m running because I believe in protecting taxpayer dollars through strong financial management and solid compliance practices, and my experience uniquely equips me to do exactly that,” said Jester.

Her campaign is focused on:
• Responsible stewardship and strict oversight of taxpayer funds
• Strengthening compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness
• Accurate, transparent reporting and efficient processes
• Respectful, community-centered service

Jester emphasized her deep ties to the county and her commitment to public service:
“I’m ready to bring integrity, professionalism, and proven financial and HR leadership to the Treasurer’s Office. Brown County deserves dependable and ethical stewardship of its resources.”
