
The Brown County Office of Emergency Management issued the following press release at 2 p.m. Thursday:
Brown County officials are notifying residents that CodeRed, the emergency alert system used for automated weather alerts and other emergency messages, is currently out of service. According to the system’s vendor, there is no estimated time for restoration at this point.
During this outage, residents are strongly encouraged to stay informed about weather conditions by monitoring the following reliable sources:
• The National Weather Service website for official forecasts and warnings
• Local radio and online media outlets for timely updates or emergency messages
Brown County is actively working with the vendor to restore CodeRed as quickly as possible. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
As always, ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, especially during severe weather events.
