Guy Diaz, born January 22, 1947, in the small town of Santa Anna, Texas, to Guy G. Diaz Sr. and Lucia Camarillo-Diaz, lived a life rich in experience, faith, and love. As a child, Guy traveled across the country with his parents, farming and picking cotton, seeing many places and learning the value of hard work from an early age.

Guy welcomed two children in his first marriage, Sylvia and Harvey Diaz. He later settled in Brownwood, Texas—where his life changed forever. It was there that he met the love of his life, Frances Myers. Their story began the day an innocent “church girl” crossed paths with a handsome “rebel” driving a ’69 Dodge Charger. From that moment on, as the saying goes, the rest was history. Guy and Frances were married on April 16, 1976, in a little church on Lovers Lane in Brownwood. Just five miles from that church, they built a home and a life filled with love, challenges, and blessings. Together, they welcomed three children: Shantel, born November 29, 1977, Gabriel, born December 4, 1979, Michael, born August 21, 1987

However, the most defining day of Guy’s life came on a night in July in 1990. After years of heartache and struggle, a brokenhearted wife prayed earnestly for God to save her husband—and in the quiet hours of the morning, Guy, a hardened “rebel” of a man, met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From that moment forward, his life was transformed. He became a new man, walking in the grace and strength that only Jesus could give.

His children fondly remember Saturday mornings, when Guy, Bible in hand, would wake them up to share stories of the Savior he loved so deeply. His faith became the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions, shaping his character, and influencing all who knew him.

After retiring from the City of Brownwood in May 2009, Guy spent his later years surrounded by the people he cherished most, his wife, his children, and the many grandchildren who brought him endless joy. His home was filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of a man who had found true peace.

In the final season of his life, Guy embodied the quiet strength and serenity that comes from unwavering faith. With his loving wife and grandson Daniel by his side, he left this world peacefully leaving behind a legacy of love, testimony, and hope that will endure for generations.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 49 years, Frances Diaz; his children Sylvia, Harvey, Shantel and husband Daniel Phillips, Gabriel, and Michael and wife Kimberly; numerous grandchildren whom he deeply loved; and many brothers, sisters, and extended family.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents Guy G. Diaz Sr. and Lucia Salazar; his stepmother Margarita Diaz; his brother Lorenzo Diaz; his sisters Pearl Fernandez and Alice Bastardo; and his grandparents on both sides.

“Until we meet in Heaven on the final day of the resurrection, we will always love you, “Dear”, “ Dad and Pa.”

Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs, Texas.

Blaylock Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
