Vicky Jenkins, a lifelong Brown County resident, was born and raised locally and graduated from Blanket High School in 1995. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in English from Tarleton State University. With decades of hands-on legal, administrative, and records-management experience, Jenkins brings a strong professional background well-suited for the responsibilities of County Clerk.
Vicky began her career at age 18, working for local law firms and gaining extensive experience in multiple areas of law. Her work has included assisting with the development of title companies, guiding clients through divorces and criminal matters, and managing the complex documentation required for real estate closings, adoptions, name changes, and more. Over the years, she has worked alongside many respected Brown County attorneys, including Nita Meador, Gerald Hale, Tommy Adams, Jason Johnson, Genetha Chastain, and Jennifer Broughton.
In addition to her legal experience, Vicky has served in roles with title companies, child placement agencies within the local foster system, and in the banking industry. She currently works as a Paralegal and Victim’s Assistance Coordinator for the Brown County Attorney’s Office, where she plays an instrumental role in handling misdemeanor and juvenile cases, as well as protective orders. Her position requires daily collaboration with attorneys, clerks, law enforcement, and the courts—experience that directly aligns with the duties of County Clerk.
Vicky is married to Austin Jenkins, also a lifelong Brown County resident. Together, they raised their three children on the family farm in Blanket. Their daughter, Charity, works as an EMT with Lifeguard Ambulance in Brownwood; their son, Ryan, is a firefighter for the City of Breckenridge and lives there with his wife, Reagan; and their youngest daughter, Zoey Grace, is a third-grade student at Early Elementary. The Jenkins family is active in the community and can often be found at local softball fields, stock shows, and gyms supporting their children’s activities.
