Early earns 24 postseason accolades on 5-3A Division II all-district team

Andrew Reedy (4) was named the Co-MVP of the league, one of four superlative honors for the Longhorns (5-6, 4-1)

The District 5-3A Division II football tri-champion Early Longhorns earned 24 postseason accolades from the league coaches, which were released Monday.

Among four superlative honors for the Longhorns, junior Andrew Reedy was named Co-District MVP. Reedy tallied 41 catches for 690 yards with 13 touchdowns and rushed for 122 yards and another score, while on defense he recorded 48 tackles with 4 for loss, 3 interceptions and a blocked kick.

The Defensive Lineman of the Year in league was senior Aiden Driskill, who amassed 56 tackles with 5 for loss, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery.

The Offensive Newcomer of the Year was sophomore quarterback Caden Wilson, completed 101 of 188 passes for 1,422 yards with 17 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, while rushing for 490 yards with 9 trips to the end zone.

The Early Longhorns coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Marvin Wilson, was tabbed the district’s Coaching Staff of the Year as the Longhorns finished 4-1 in district play and 5-6 on the year.

First-team offensive selections included senior running backs Stone Ratliff (320 rushing yards, 4 TDs; 19-262, 2 TDs receiving) and Cameron Love 520 rushing yards, 5 TDs), Driskill (5-41, TD) at tight end, and offensive linemen seniors Ben Wilson and Will Speck and junior Rhett Smith, who paved the way for 32 points and 325 yards – 189 rushing and 136 passing – per game for Early in 2025.

First-team defensive choices were Ben Wilson (18 tackles, 4 for loss, 1 sack) and senior Weston Harrison (58 tackles, 6 for loss, 2 sacks) along the line, junior linebacker Brayden Schafer (118 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 sack), senior linebacker Rhett Williams (70 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 sacks), senior defensive back Aaron Mendoza (62 tackles, 1 for loss, 2 interceptions) and junior defensive back Jaxson Stockman (27 tackles, 1 for loss, 2 interceptions, 1 fumbler recovery).

Landing on the second-team offense were freshman running back Isaac Ybarra (436 rushing yards, 4 TDs) and junior receivers Jaxson Stockman (12-145) and Brennen Rasor (12-161, 2 TDs).

Making the second-team defense were senior linebacker Angel Marquez (107 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception), junior linebacker Grant Stacks (34 tackles, 8 for loss, 1 blocked kick) and senior defensive back Brandon Walker (30 tackles, 3 for loss).

Receiving honorable mention were Rhett Williams on the offensive line and Brennen Rasor (32 tackles) in the secondary.
