Eileen Ellen Tibbetts, a devoted mother, grandmother, and community servant, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Coleman County Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 24, 1946, in Tracy, Minnesota, Eileen dedicated her life to helping others, a commitment that was evident in both professional and personal endeavors.
Eileen grew up in Minnesota, where she pursued her education and obtained a degree in social work. This foundation laid the groundwork for her long-standing career, during which she served as a police officer and deputy sheriff in Hereford, Texas. Additionally, she worked at the grain elevator and took on the role of safety coordinator for the O.H. Ivie Lake Dam crew, demonstrating her diverse talents and dedication to her community.
Her personal life resonated with warmth and generosity. Eileen’s love for her family and friends knew no bounds; this profound affection was illustrated by her decision to raise several foster children while living in Hereford. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying hobbies such as sewing, taking photographs of loved ones, and exploring family genealogy. Eileen was also a proud member of the Presbyterian Church, reflecting her commitment to her faith and community.
Eileen’s proudest accomplishment was her role as a mother to her three sons and as a cherished grandmother to six grandsons and seven granddaughters. Her legacy continues through her beloved family, which includes her three sons and daughters-in-love: Mike and Debbie Tibbetts, Scott and Aimie Tibbetts, and Jeff and Darla Tibbetts, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanne March, who will carry forward the memories of their time together.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Frederick Forsberg and Agnes Cecelia Reinart Forsberg, as well as three infant sons and her brother, Richard Allen Forsberg. These losses shaped her resilience and her unwavering commitment to support and love those around her.
Eileen Ellen Tibbetts will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the indelible mark she left on those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit of service and love for her family will remain a guiding light, cherished by all who knew her.
At Eileens’ request, no formal service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
