Cheryl Kaye Switzer, 78 of Odessa, died Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. She remained strong and optimistic throughout her illness.

Cheryl was born in San Angelo, Texas and attended Lakeview High School. She began a career as a talented and successful hairstylist. She later moved to Odessa where she once again built a thriving business with an extensive clientele. Cheryl also obtained licenses as a massage therapist and an esthetician to expand her services in the beauty and wellness industry. She married Bob Switzer in 1992, whom she loved, traveled the world with and cared for until his death did part them on April 4th, 2020. Cheryl’s life didn’t change the WHOLE world but it DID have immense impact on her children, grandchildren, friends and, in the end, her caregivers. We will always remember and treasure her intense fortitude, her smile, her humor and her recipes.

Cheryl is survived by her son Randy Schacherl, her daughter Carla and son in law Doug Duff, her stepson Charles Switzer and wife Lisa, stepdaughter Laura and husband James Alexander as well as her grandchildren, Jaxon Moore, Melody Owens, Meredith Alexander, Sarah Alexander, great granddaughter Ophelia Butler, her sisters Dorothy Williams, Debbie and her husband Jimmy Arrott, Charlotte Huckaby, her brother Reggie Williams and wife June.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Switzer and her sister Mary Bea George.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, November 15th at 12 p.m. at Bangs Cemetery on Phillips Road in Bangs, Texas.

Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood in charge of the funeral arrangements.
