Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday morning:

This month’s spotlight teacher is Tessa Cabrera. Ms. Cabrera is a second-grade teacher at Coggin Elementary School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M. Ms. Cabrera is a state-certified teacher (Generalist & ESL Supplemental EC-4), and this is her first year with Brownwood ISD.

Ms. Cabrera goes above and beyond for her students and teammates at Coggin Elementary. Tessa has been an invaluable asset to Coggin Elementary this year and has shown her huge heart and incredible passion for helping students succeed. Ms. Cabrera not only provides students with a safe, welcoming classroom, but also is a model teacher for the new Bluebonnet curriculum. She is always looking for ways to improve and to make sure her students are successful both in and out of the classroom.

Brownwood ISD is thankful to have dedicated teachers like Ms. Cabrera who are steadfast, caring, and passionate about providing students with the best education.

Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Tosha Blake. Ms. Blake is a Computer Lab Aide at Northwest Elementary. She holds an Educational Aide Certification from the Texas Education Agency and is now in her fifth year with Brownwood ISD.

Ms. Blake is an educator who exemplifies dedication and commitment to her students and the school community. She approaches each day with enthusiasm, inspiring students first thing in the morning when greeting them as they get off the bus. Whether it’s staying after school to help with school events or offering guidance on projects, Ms. Blake is always there to lend a hand, even when she isn’t asked. Understanding the diverse schedules of students and staff members, she makes herself available at various times to accommodate different needs. She also takes the initiative to decorate the school, transforming it into a vibrant and inspiring place for students and staff alike.

Brownwood ISD is blessed to have staff like Ms. Blake who go the extra mile and provide a steady beacon of hope and encouragement for our students.
