Bangs comes up short at Hico as quest for district win continues

HICO – The Bangs Lady Dragons were again denied in their quest for their first District 5-2A volleyball victory of the season, falling at Hico, 25-10, 25-12, 25-15 Friday afternoon.

Cameryn Harmon led the attack for Bangs with four kills followed by three from Ashlynn Sliger, two each from Aubrey Martin and Karlyee Sliger, with Stormy Stringer and Jasmine Lewis each contributing one.

Justice Baker distributed 11 assists, while Ashlynn Sliger led the team with two aces along with one apiece from Baker, Adalynne Stephens and Cloey Petty.

On the defensive end, Baker’s seven digs were a team-best followed Stephens and Petty with four each, Kylee Byler and Stringer with three apiece, two by Lewis, Harmon and Ashlynn Sliger, and one by Lily Boren.

Bangs did not record a block in its most recent outing.

The Lady Dragons (7-24, 0-6) are back in action at De Leon at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
