As part of the current photography exhibit at the Brownwood Art Center, the Brownwood Art Association is inviting the public to join us for a unique and exciting opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of cyanotype photography at our free demonstration event!

Julie Mize will demonstrate cyanotype photographic technique at the Art Center, 215 Fisk, on Sat. Oct. 18,  from 10 am to 12 noon,   This technique, which dates back to the 19th century, produces stunning blue and white prints using a simple chemical process and sunlight.

Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just curious about exploring a new artistic medium, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Best of all, it’s completely free and open to the public, so bring your friends and family along for a fun and educational experience. Don’t miss out on this chance to unleash your creativity and discover the magic of cyanotype photography – we can’t wait to see you there!

Also coming in October, a free demonstration of Ideas in Ink for Halloween.  Local artist June Musick will show you how to use inks on old and new photos, and introduce different inks into Halloween decor, as well as mixed media.

The Ideas in Ink for Halloween demonstration will be at the Art Center, from 6-8 pm on Friday, Oct. 24.  Adults and mature teens are welcome.

The current photography exhibit, Through the Lens:  Exploring the Beauty of Central Texas, continues through Nov. 19.  Gallery hours are Tues.-Fri. from 2-6 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm.
