October Sales Tax Up in Brownwood & Early, Down in Bangs

The Texas Comptroller’s Office recently released the sales tax allocations for October.  The allocations were higher than October 2024 in both Brownwood and Early, but down in Bangs.  The October sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in August 2025.  October is the first month of the 2025/2026 fiscal year in all three cities.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $594,138, an increase of 9.09% compared to October 2024.  The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $195,117, up 8.26% over October 2024.

EARLY

The City of Early received $190,189, an increase of 6.58% compared to October 2024.  The Early Municipal Development District received $63,674, up 6.98% over October 2024.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $21,761, a decrease of 14.07% compared to October 2024.  The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,355, an increase of 6.34% over October 2024.
