Dennis Earl Russell, age 84, of Brady, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Brady. Dennis was born on August 31, 1941 in Lohn, Texas, to Henry Alex Russell and Emma (Henton) Russell. He grew up in Lohn and graduated from Lohn High School. He has lived in the area his entire life, working as a Farrier (horse shoer) and a custom knife sharpener. He married Nelda Estes on January 3, 1990. He enjoyed shooting pool and dancing. He loved animals and had a special love for horses. He was a very loving father, a very giving and caring individual. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan. He was a Baptist.

A Celebration of Life service for Dennis Earl Russell will be at 10:00am, October 11, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Friends may view and/or sign Dennis Earl Russell’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Dennis is survived by his son Roy Dean Russell of Brownwood, Texas; daughter RayeAnn Russell of Brady, Texas; step-daughter Michelle Duque of Brady, Texas; brother Oscar “Shorty” Russell of Cisco, Texas; sister Hazel McClure of Coleman, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bobby Russell.
