
EARLY – The Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 3A No. 21 Early Lady Horns’ five-match win streak in District 8-3A volleyball action was halted Tuesday night as Peaster completed a league sweep with a 25-15, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18 victory.
The Early (24-6, 6-3) effort included 13 kills from Aubrie DeVillier, seven from Jensyn Rasor, six from Kailyn Gallardo, five from Grey Pruett, and three from Ellie Shea.
Pruett logged 17 assists followed by 13 from Cassidy Frerichs, while DeVillier served three aces, Pruett and Gallardo added two apiece, and Tiffany Phelps tallied one.
On the defensive end, DeVillier’s 21 digs were also a team-best followed by 18 from Gabby Benson, 16 from Gallardo, 15 from Pruett, eight from Frerichs, three from Tyley Simmons, two from Rasor, and one by Phelps.
At the net, Shea and Pruett registered two blocks apiece and Rasor and Frerichs were each credited with one.
The Lady Horns are back in action at 4 p.m. Friday at Comanche.
