Larry L. Crump

Larry L Crump went home to be with his Lord, Sunday, October 5, 2025. He passed peacefully in his sleep at Oak Ridge Manor nursing home.

Larry was born April 29, 1947, in Alamogordo New Mexico to J.M. (Fritz) Crump, and Joella Bryson Crump.

Larry was a 1965 graduate of Brady High School, Brady TX. He attended Cisco Jr College, Cisco TX, and Southwest State in San Marcus TX.

Larry volunteered for the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1967. After a year of reserve duty, he served on active duty for two years, on a destroyer in the Pacific, including a cruise to Viet Nam. After being discharged from active duty, he served another eight years in the reserves.

Larry married Dorinda Lewis in San Marcus TX on July 12, 1968. They were married for 57 years last July.

Prior to his retirement, and move to Richland Springs TX, Larry served with the Texas Baptist Men, on the Chain Saw team, helping with clean-up after storms in the North Texas area. He also traveled to help with cleanup in New Orleans after Katrina in 2005, and to the Texas Coast after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Larry loved being able to use his gifts of construction to help friends, neighbors and customers who were widows.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dorinda (Dee) Lewis Crump, his children and grandchildren. Stephen Crump and Sandy Crump of Justin TX, Christopher Crump of Austin, Rachael Wehrwein, Chris Wehrwein, Braden and Kaylee Wehrwein of Little Elm TX, step-grandson James Austin and great-grandson Landon Austin of Gainesville, TX. His sister Sue Ann Crump Roberson and Thomas Roberson, his brother Brett Crump and Charmin Crump of Azel TX, sister-in-law Marla Lewis Lampp and Robert Lampp of New Orleans LA and four nephews and niece, and five great-nephews and nieces.

Larry was proceeded in death by his parents, and his in-laws, Byron Lewis and Georgia Proctor Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the Samaritan’s Purse or The Father’s House in San Saba.
