Irene G. Flores, age 69, of Brownwood, passed away with her family by her side on October 5, 2025 in Plano. A visitation for Irene will be held from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, October 12, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Irene was born on March 2, 1956 in Plainview to Eloisa and Emilio Gonzales. She was a graduate of Plainview High School. After high school, she attended Wayland Baptist University. Irene worked at Oak Ridge Manor in Brownwood, as well as West Central Wireless. She attended Saint Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood. Irene enjoyed sewing, cooking, and most of all, being with her family.

Irene is survived by her husband, Joe Flores; children, Valerie DeLaCerda, David DeLaCerda, and Miguel DeLaCerda and wife Diana; step children, Joe Flores and wife Jenny, and Michelle Gonzales and husband Tony; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Grace Padilla, and Hope Gonzales; brother, Jose “Jody” Gonzales; and although not a sister by blood, Liz Vasquez, a sister none the less.

She is preceded in death by her son, Raymond DeLaCerda; and brothers, Elmo Gonzales, and Armando Gonzales.
