Raymond Valadez, of Blanket, Texas, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 20, 1951, in Brownwood, Texas, to Jose and Louisa Valadez. We are grateful that God, our Heavenly Father, opened the gates of Heaven for him, receiving him with open arms.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brownwood Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Raymond left us with many beautiful memories and will be deeply missed by all his family. He was a very special part of our lives. Raymond had a joyful spirit and loved music, playing his guitar, and sharing laughter with those around him. One of our fondest memories is of Raymond watching a baseball game on TV with his dad. They also enjoyed sitting together and listening to music—moments that will always be cherished.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Valadez; his brother-in-law, Cruz Alvarado; his nieces, Demeatrice Evon Valadez and Rebecca Valadez; and his nephews, Armando Valadez, Joel Martin Valadez, and Jesus David Valadez.

Raymond is survived by his sisters, Hope Alvarado and Gumercinda DeLeon, both of Blanket; and Odilia Ayala and her husband, Viviano, of Benbrook. He is also survived by his brothers: Joe Ismael Jr. and his wife, Anna Belle Valadez, of Blanket; Rudy and his wife, Marisol Valadez, of Blanket; Mario Valadez of Brownwood; and Arthur Valadez of Benbrook. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the prayers and support from family and friends. Special gratitude goes to Hospice of Brownwood for their compassionate care during Raymond’s final days. A very special thank-you to his long-term caregiver, his sister Hope Alvarado, and his niece, Lisa Trevino, who lovingly cared for him with kindness, patience, and love.
Services are entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.brownwoodfuneralhome.net.
