Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday regarding its October Spotlight Employees:
This month’s spotlight teacher is Leah Loftin. Ms. Loftin is a third-grade teacher at Woodland Heights Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Ms. Loftin is a state-certified teacher (EC-4), and this is her second year with Brownwood ISD. Ms. Loftin is a fantastic teacher and teammate. Her classroom is high energy and engaging, and students love her. Ms. Loftin takes the time to get to know each student individually and provides exactly what they need to be successful. She is up at school before the sun rises and gives every student her full attention. She’s a hard worker and the first to volunteer anytime help is needed.
Ms. Loftin is a great asset to Woodland Heights and their third grade team, bringing her witty sense of humor and her heart into education everyday.
Brownwood ISD is proud to have passionate teachers like Ms. Loftin who consistently go the extra mile providing genuine care and quality education for our students.
Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Cassandra Penn. Ms. Penn is a Life Academics Aide at Brownwood Middle School (BMS). A proud 2009 graduate of Brownwood High School, Ms. Penn holds an Educational Aide Certification from the Texas Education Agency and is now in her fourth year with Brownwood ISD.
Ms. Penn has proven to be an invaluable member of the BMS Life Academics team. She consistently demonstrates high expectations for our students while also showing genuine care for their well-being and success. Her calm, steady presence in challenging or stressful situations reflects both professionalism and admirable composure, making her a true asset to our team. Cassandra looks for ways to improve classroom operations and is willing to make suggestions and do the work needed to implement them.
