The Class A Division I No. 3 May Tigers set their sights on a fourth consecutive victory as they visit the Irion County Hornets Friday night.
May is a coming off a 63-18 victory over Iredell in which the Tigers received the following standout performances: Lane Goodson (3 tackles 1 interception, 23 rushing yards, 2 TDs); Kayden Psencik (3 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, 12 rushing yards, 1 TD), Mikey Scheriger (1 tackle, 30 rushing yards, 1 TD), Kobey Morris (23 rushing yards, 65 passing yards, 1 passing TD), Kaden Watkins (2 tackles, 21 receiving yards, 1 TD), Jackson Lusk (1 tackle, 1 forced fumble, 9 rushing yards, 1 TD), Ty McInnis (1 tackle, 18 passing yards), Cayson Dail (21 passing yards, 1 passing TD), Brody Stice (1 tackle, 65 receiving yards 1 TD), Britton Morrow (1 tackle), Beckam Morrow (75 rushing yards, 1 TD), Gabriel Collins (30 rushing yards, 1 TD), and Jesse Thrasher (18 receiving yards).
Irion County has defeated Midland Holy Cross (65-20) this season with losses against Buena Vista (49-26), Rankin (48-0), Garden City (66-20) and Klondike (88-6).

Woodson (0-5) at Blanket (4-1)

The Blanket Tigers welcome the Woodson Cowboys for homecoming Friday night with a goal of attaining their fifth consecutive victory.
Blanket recorded a second straight shutout victory, 58-0 over Throckmorton last week, as the Tigers produced 361 yards of total offense – 273 rushing and 88 passing.
Mason Beck rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 38 yards and another touchdown, while Kannon Kensing chipped in 128 yards and two trips to the end zone, while passing for 13 yards and grabbing a 5-yard reception.
Leo Valdez threw for just 8 yards, but with two scoring tosses. Karter Keel led the Tigers with two catches for 38 yards, both touchdowns, and Kade Russell finished with two receptions for 3 yards with one score. Other Tigers who caught a pass were Brian Shannon (29 yards) and AC French (13 yards).
Defensively standouts for Blanket were Kensing with six tackles; Beck with four and two interceptions; Shannon with four and a fumble recovery; Abel McLaughlin with four; Keel, Russell, Brayden Cain and Ethan Tomme with two each; and French, Cole Furry and Gunner Jones with one tackle apiece.
Woodson has suffered losses to Harrold (56-6), Ranger (20-13), Guthrie (45-0), Aspermont (52-6) and Bryson (58-6).
Cowboys to watch include Chris Overton, Carson Bellah, Carter Bandy, Lake Lawson, and Gunner Oliver.

Santa Anna (2-3) at Zephyr (4-1)

The Zephyr Bulldogs look to rebound from their first loss of the season, while the Santa Anna Mountaineers will attempt to pull off consecutive victories for the first time in 2025.
Zephyr dropped an 86-38 decision at No. 8 Strawn last week as the Bulldogs amassed 441 yards of total offense – 266 passing and 175 rushing – but turned the ball over four times, while the defense surrendered 508 yards – 385 on the ground and 123 through the air – with no takeaways.
Chayden Woodcock caught 10 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown, threw a 4-yard touchdowns, and rushed for 51 yards. Quadye Heard passed for 194 yards and rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, while CJ Byers added 46 yards and two touchdowns on the ground along with five receptions for 33 yards with a trip to the end zone. Spencer Marwitz threw for 68 yards and a touchdown, Jetson Gowin caught two passes for 33 yards and Wyatt Frank added two receptions for 22 yards.
Defensively, Woodcock tallied nine tackles followed by Gowin with five and Ethan Prochaska with four.
Santa Anna blanked Priddy, 50-0, last week for its second win as the Mountaineers rushed for 289 of their 324 yards of total offense. Jayden Gibson churned out 217 yards and five touchdowns of 53, 23, 4, 14 and 54 yards and Jordan Diggs added 72 yards and scored on a 45-yard scamper.
Through the air Brock Brown connected on just 1 of 6 passes, but that was a 35-yard scoring strike to Eddie York. Brown was also picked off once.
Defensive standouts for the Mountaineers were Brown with 13 tackles trailed by Diggs with nine, Tony Blaine with six, Donovan Jackson with five, and Gibson with four.

Brookesmith (2-3) at Olfen (0-3)

The Brookesmith Mustangs hit the road looking to snap a two-game skid against an Olfen Mustangs squad that is still searching for its first victory this season.
Brookesmith fell to Bluff Dale, 70-6, this past Thursday as the Mustangs finished with just 19 yards of total offense – 23 rushing yards on 22 carries, and -4 passing – with five turnovers.
Addy Heard rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries for Brookesmith, scoring the only points for the Mustangs on a 41-yard gallop. Austin Loyd caught two passes for the Mustangs, Blake Loyd added a 5-yard reception, and Jace Julien carried the ball for Brookesmith as well.
Brookesmith allowed 283 yards of total offense, with 256 and six touchdowns coming on the ground on just 12 carries.
Olfen has fallen to Dawson (37-19), Paint Rock (60-14) and Lohn (19-16) in its outings this season.
Players to watch for Olfen include Grant Halsell, Stetson Coffey, Ethan Vann, and Zane Winford.

Hubbard (2-2, 0-1) at Goldthwaite (2-2, 0-1)

In a battle of District 10-2A Division II squads, both the Goldthwaite Eagles and Hubbard Jaguars are seeking their first league victory.
Goldthwaite is a coming off a 14-0 loss to No. 8 Chilton in its league opener as the Eagles mustered just 155 yards of total offense – 87 passing and 68 rushing – while giving up 251 yards – 221 on the ground and 30 through the air – with one takeaway.
Aidyn Lee completed 11 of 27 passes for 87 for Goldthwaite, Landry Sanderson rushed for 73 yards on 20 carries, Casen Wiedebusch caught five passes for 62 yards, and Zach Rodriguez added three receptions for 26 yards.
Hubbard, which has already exceeded its 2024 win total, is coming off a 10-6 district loss to Meridian.
The Jaguars are led by quarterback Gage Serna (354 rushing yards, 7 TDs; 151 passing yards, 1 TD), and running backs Owen Gillham (120 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and Gavin Wragge (109 rushing yards, 1 TD).

Richland Springs (3-1) at Lometa (3-2)
7:30 p.m. Friday
The Class A Division II No. 3 Richland Springs Coyotes make the relatively short drive to Lometa as they look to continue their string of victories.
Last week’s game with Lubbock West Texas Homeschool was canceled, but the week prior the Coyotes turned in their biggest scoring output of 2025 in an 83-14 triumph at Bryan St. Joseph.
The Coyotes generated 313 yards of total offense – 177 passing and 136 rushing – while the defense forced four turnovers.
Cohen Ethridge completed 3 of 3 passes for 101 yards and two touchdown while rushing for 73 yards and two more scores. Evan Deeds was 2 of 2 through the air for 55 yards with a scoring toss, and Ethan Deeds connected on his lone pass attempt for a 21-yard touchdown.
Eli Hutchins caught two passes for 78 yards, both touchdowns, while Brice Roesler added two grabs for 44 yards and scored once. Trendon Vogel pulled down a 10-yard scoring reception a well, and Rush Norris caught a 45-yard pass.
On the ground, Billy Perry tacked on 36 yards and two touchdowns and Vogel contributed 26 yards with a trip to the end zone.
Defensively, Norris registered 10 tackles and recovered a fumble, Perry notched six tackles and pounced on a loose ball, and Ethridge and Evan Deeds both logged four tackles and picked off a pass.
Lometa opened its season with wins over Gorman (40-16) and Blum (47-34), then fell to Eden (64-14), rebounded with a victory over Rochelle (36-30), and last week lost to Saint Jo (68-55).
The Hornets are led by Jeremiah Torres, Emmanuel Prado, Stone Carr-Jones, Roy Carr, Pablo Carbajal, Easton Hamilton, and Carson Brister.

Mullin (1-4) at Lohn (2-3)

The Mullin Bulldogs were denied in their bid for a win streak last week, but look to attain their second victory of 2025 Friday as they visit the Lohn Eagles.
Mullin is coming off a 55-33 loss to Ranger in which the Bulldogs finished with 259 total yards – 132 rushing and 127 passing.
Mani Morales threw for 121 yards and a touchdown and added 63 yards on the ground and two more scores. Vash Langford rushed for 27 yards and a touchdown and caught six passes for 26 yards and reached the end zone once. Toby Kuhn pulled down two receptions for 30 yards and scored once, while Jaiden Langford added four catches for 66 yards and Aaron Porter rushed for 25 yards.
Defensively, Morales led Mullin with seven tackles with an interception, Johnathan Armendarez netted 4.5 tackles and recovered a fumble, Kuhn logged three tackles, and Lucas Cook registered 2.5 tackles.
Lohn owns victories over Lueders-Avoca (54-44) and Olfen (19-16), with losses against Nueces Canyon (46-0), Paint Creek (48-0) and Three Way (54-0).
Eagles to watch include Dallas Keller, Kadin Reeves, Connor Nuncio, Sergio Sandoval, and Abel Salas.

Panther Creek (3-2) at Blackwell (0-5)

The Panther Creek Panthers will attempt to shake off their second loss of the season and keep the Blackwell Hornets winless when the two teams clash Saturday night.
Panther Creek dropped a 54-7 decision to Paint Creek last week as the Panthers mustered 124 yards of total offense – 72 through the air and 52 on the ground.
Adan Wyatt returned a kick 64 yards for the lone Panther touchdown and also caught three passes for 62 yards, rushed for 23 yards, and threw for 10 yards on a completion to Carter Vogel. Caleb Hale tacked on 62 passing yards, and Caleb Storey rushed for 47 yards.
Defensively, Storey tallied eight tackles followed by Wyatt with seven, Aidan Patterson with four, Trever Brooks with three, Hale and Blayde Wilber with two apiece, and Jonah Torres with one tackle.
Blackwell has been defeated by Aspermont (72-24), Zephyr (45-0), Roby (37-7), Robert Lee (54-6) and Highland (58-8).
Players to watch for Blackwell, which returns four starters on each side of the ball from a 5-7 playoff team a year ago, include Jacob Rivera, Kreed Cummings, Brayden Claborn, Rennder Gardenhire, Craig Guelker, Slade Wilkinson, Memphis Boyd, and Dameon Rivera.

Sidney (1-4) vs. Jonesboro JV
7:30 p.m. Thursday
The Sidney Eagles will attempt to halt a four-game slide Thursday night as they welcome the Jonesboro JV for homecoming, in a late addition to the schedule.
The Eagles are coming off a 46-0 loss to Class A Division II No. 5 Cherokee this past Friday, and standouts for Sidney were Ethan Scantling, who rushed for 80 yards, passed for 30 yards and tallied seven tackles; Josh Heath, who caught a 38-yard pass, rushed for 6 yards, and notched 4 tackles; Ryan Crawford, who finished with 10 tackles and 4 yards rushing; Dylan Terpstra with 8 tackles; JD Pounds with 5 tackles; and Nick Aldape with 4 tackles.
There are no lines for this game as it was a late addition to schedule, and pits a varsity against a junior varsity.

Rising Star (4-2) at Priddy (1-5)

Due to a lack of players on the Priddy side, the Rising Star Wildcats will pick up a forfeit victory this week.
The Rising Star Wildcats now have their second two-game win streak of the season, while the Priddy Pirates are still seeking their first victory over a varsity program in 2025.
Offensive standouts in Rising Star’s 46-36 homecoming win over Gorman last week were JV Kelly with 213 rushing yards and four touchdowns to go along with 99 passing yards and another score, and three catches for 44 yards. Chance Wells added 78 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 74 yards through the air. Leland Schenk caught three passes for 46 yards, Juakeen Froese added three catches for 29 yards with a touchdown, Kason McGinn grabbed three receptions for 24 yards, and Pacey McGinn pulled down a 35-yard reception
Leading the way defensively for the Wildcats were Kelly with 14 tackles, a fumble recovery and an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown. Wells also finished with 14 tackles, Schenk and Kasen McGinn contributed 13 tackles each, Frose added seven tackles and picked off a pass, while Kaiden Griffith tallied four tackles, Richie Primm notched three tackles and Bryan Lopez recorded one tackle.
Priddy picked up a 38-28 win over the Rocksprings JV with losses this season to Panther Creek (46-0), Trent (57-8), Gustine (48-0) and Santa Anna (50-0).
Pirates to keep an eye on this year include Shane Ahearn, Brailen Rea and Luis Reyes.
