Bangs volleyball drops home district match to Hico

Ashlynn Sliger (12) and the Lady Dragons (6-20, 0-2) are slated to host De Leon in their next match at 4 p.m. Friday

BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons were dealt a second straight District 5-2A volleyball defeat Tuesday by the Hico Lady Tigers, 25-6, 25-10, 25-8.

Bangs (6-20, 0-2) received seven kills from Ashlynn Sliger, four each from Stormy Stringer and Cameryn Harmon, and one each from Justice Baker and Aubrey Martin.

Baker notched 17 assists while Cloey Petty chipped in one, while Harmon served a pair of aces.

On defense, Petty tallied 14 digs followed by eight from Baker, six from Adalynne Stephens, five from Kylee Byler, three each from Ashlynn Sliger and Harmon, two from Stringer, and one from Lily Boren.

At the net, Sliger recorded five blocks and Harmon added one.

The Lady Dragons are slated to host De Leon in their next match at 4 p.m. Friday.
