The 3rd Annual American Legion Post 196 Claybird Shoot is happening again in April 2026 (day to be published later) at the Brownwood Claybird Club, located at 5895 County Road 225, Brownwood, Texas. This is our most important fundraiser for the year that funds Boy and Girls State and Youth Scholarships, as well as assistance for veterans in our community that need support. As we plan for this annual event, we respectfully request your consideration as a continued supporter of the America Legion. We will begin accepting donations in February/March 2026 and will continue to do so up until the day before the event in April 2026.

A $500 Sponsor will receive: 1 Event entry, Social Media Plugs, Radio Recognition, Station Sign Advertisement and Free Meal on day of shoot. The $1000 Sponsor will receive: 2 Event Entries and all of items described in the $500 sponsor level, as well as Showcase Banner at event and future American Legion events and appearances. We will happily accept donations outside of the aforementioned sponsor levels at any time. A donation letter (for tax purposes) will be provided to each sponsor that contributes to this event. The individual cost for participation in this event is $120 and comes with a free meal. Please make checks out to American Legion Post 196, and can be mail to American Legion Post 196, PO Box 1111, Brownwood, Texas 76801, or given directly to John Miller, Post 196 Adjutant or Dennis Rumfield.

The American Legion Isham Smith-Scott Brothers Post 196 is a non-profit organization and as such is tax exempt under section 501 (c)(4) (19) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Post receives no government funding or subsidies, all the money accrued is received through donations, sponsorships and membership dues. The monies are used to fund Boys and Girls State, Youth Scholarships and Veteran support in our local community. We would not be able to fund these projects without the support of our local community and this annual fundraiser.

We are grateful for our local community and sponsors. Our Sponsorship Coordinator for this event is  Dennis Rumfeld who provides outstanding, on-going support to the American Legion. Advertising such as Flyers and radio announcements will begin roughly 6 to 8 weeks prior to the April 2026 event.

We welcome you to come and see us any time and to encourage new members to become part of the American Legion Family Post 196. On behalf of American Legion Post 196 I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and generous donation. Please feel free to contact me (see below) if you have any questions and/or Dennis Rumfeild at (325- 642-0074)
