Lady Horns rally past Tolar in five sets for third straight district win

Aubrie DeVillier (7) led the way with 15 kills and 18 digs for Early (22-5, 4-2), which next visits Dublin Tuesday.

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns chalked up their third consecutive District 8-3A volleyball victory Saturday morning, rallying past Tolar in five sets.

The Lady Horns dropped the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-17, but rebounded with wins of 25-18, 25-15 and 15-10 to take the match.

Aubrie DeVillier registered 15 kills to spark the Early (22-5, 4-2) attack followed by 12 from Jensyn Rasor, five from Grey Pruett, four from Kailyn Gallardo, and two teach from Cassidy Frerichs and Ellie Shea.

Pruett dished out 28 assists while Frerichs added 11, and Pruett also served nine aces followed by Gallardo with five, Rasor with two and DeVillier and Gabby Benson with one apiece.

Defensively, DeVillier recorded 18 digs along with 15 from Gallardo, 10 from Frerichs, seven from Benson, three each from Shea and Rasor, two by Pruett and one by Jamie Lyon.

At the net, Shea and Rasor each collected three blocks while Pruett and DeVillier were each credited with one block.

The Lady Horns hit the road Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. district encounter with Dublin.
