Lady Dragons volleyball falls in District 5-2A opener at Coleman

Cameryn Harmon (5) recorded a team-high nine kills and six aces for Bangs (6-19, 0-1), which next hosts Hico Tuesday

COLEMAN – The Bangs Lady Dragons, playing in their first District 5-2A match of the season, were upended in four sets by the Coleman Bluekatts Saturday.

Leading the charge Bangs (6-19, 0-1) with nine kills was Cameryn Harmon followed by Ashlynn Sliger with five, Stormy Stringer with four, Karlyee Sliger with three, two each by Justice Baker and Kynlee White and one kill by Aubrey Martin.

Baker finished with 18 assists, Ashlynn Sliger added two and Karlyee Sliger was credited with one. Harmon served six aces for Bangs and Lily Boren added one.

Defensively, Cloey Petty led the Lady Dragons with 28 digs followed by Baker with 15, Harmon with 12, White and Adalynne Stephens with five apiece, Ashlynn Sliger with four, Jasmine Lewis with two, and Stringer and Cricket Caulkins with one each.

Ashlynn Sliger’s four blocks were team high, followed by three from White and one each by Harmon, Martin and Karylee Sliger.

The Lady Dragons are next slated to host Hico at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
