
Bluff Dale (3-1) at Brookesmith (2-2)

The Brookesmith Mustangs will attempt to move back over the .500 mark as they host the Bluff Dale Bobcats Thursday night in a late addition to the schedule.
Brookesmith is coming off a 70-20 homecoming loss to Paint Rock this past Friday, as the Mustangs received 180 rushing yards and a touchdown from Addy Heard, who also passed for 30 yards and another score. Jase Julien caught two touchdown passes totaling 55 yards, threw for 20 yards, and rushed for 18 yards.
Defensively, Robert Eachus collected six tackles for the Mustangs and intercepted a pass, while Heard also finished with six tackles. Julien added five tackles while Austin Loyd, Adyn Ribble and Aden Bates tallied four tackles, and Taylor Jarvis notched a pair.
Bluff Dale downed Sidney by a 51-6 count last week, and also owns victories over Throckmorton, 59-0, and Covington, 68-18. The lone loss for the Bobcats came at the hands of Class A Division II No. 4 Oglesby, 50-45.
Leading the way for Bluff Dale are Alex Saucedo (349 rushing yards, 7 TDs; 208 passing yards, 5 TDs; 5-13, TD receiving), Austin Saucedo (284 passing yards, 8 TDs; 206 rushing yards, 5 TDs; 5-163, 4 TDs receiving), and Jace Coffman (120 rushing yards, 2 TDs).

The Zephyr Bulldogs will look to keep their perfect record intact as they visit the Class A Division II No. 8 Strawn Greyhounds Friday night.
Zephyr, which has allowed just 10 points through four games, posted a 64-0 victory over Lingleville last week as the Bulldogs yielded negative -16 yards of total offense – 14 through the air and minus -30 on the ground – with a pair of takeaways, including an interception return for a touchdown by CJ Byers.
Offensively, the Bulldogs manufactured 208 yards – 109 rushing and 99 passing.
Chayden Woodcock ran for 83 yards and three touchdowns while Ethan Prochaska passed for 86 yards and three scores. Byers caught a 46-yard touchdown and added 10 yards and a score on the ground, while Jetson Gowin hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass and Ryan Glosson pulled down a 5-yard scoring toss.
Defensively, Prochaska and Woodcock led Zephyr with five tackles apiece and Gowin also intercepted a pass.
Strawn’s season has featured victories over Valley, 67-19; Knox City, 65-20; and Bryson, 56-8; with a loss to Class A Division I No. 1 Gordon, 58-8.
Players to watch for Strawn, which returns all six starters on each side of the ball from last year’s 8-3 playoff team, include Michael Barcenas, Kaison Nunez, Johnny Fraga, Ben Hopkins, Nic Lynn, Jackson Brister, Daniel Orduna and Alex Hughes.

The Class A Division I No. 3 May Tigers seek a third consecutive victory as they host the preseason District 11-A Division II favorite Iredell Dragons for homecoming.
May registered a 60-42 home victory over previously unbeaten Newcastle last week as the Tigers were sparked offensively by Kobey Morris, who compiled 164 rushing yards and four touchdowns with 17 passing yards, along with Lane Goodson, who rushed for 146 yards and four touchdowns, while also passing for 63 yards.
Kayden Psencik added 73 yards on the ground, Kaden Watkins finished with 48 yards receiving, Jackson Lusk added 20 yards receiving, Cayson Dail tallied 12 receiving yards, and Brody Stice generated 46 all-purpose yards.
Defensively for the Tigers, Mikey Scheriger, Goodson and Psencik notched six tackles apiece along with five and a fumble recovery from Watkins, four tackles from Morris, three from Lusk, and a pair of tackles by J.D. Harrell.
Iredell dropped a 46-0 decision to Newcastle in the season opener and has also fallen to Spring Founders Christian, 57-50. Wins for the Dragons came against Covington, 58-54, and Gorman, 71-36, last week.

The Blanket Tigers set their sights on a fourth consecutive victory and look to keep the Throckmorton Greyhounds winless Friday night.
Blanket chalked up a 68-0 victory over Santa Anna last week as the Tigers yielded 61 yards – 2 rushing and 59 passing – and forced three turnovers, while the offense amassed nine touchdowns and 390 yards in a half – 283 rushing yards and five touchdowns on just nine carries, while completing a combined 7 of 9 passes for 107 yards and four more scores.
Kannon Kensing finished with 185 rushing yards and four touchdowns, scoring on all four of his carries from 51, 44, 57 and 33 yards out. Mason Beck added 63 yards and a touchdown on two carries and also caught two passes for 24 yards. Alex Valdes tacked on 35 yards on the ground.
Through the air, Leo Valdes connected on 4 for 5 passes for 38 yards with touchdowns of 18 yards to Cole Furry and 2 yards to Karter Keel. AC French completed 2 of 3 passes for 34 yards with a 23-yard scoring toss to Brian Shannon, and Beck hurled a 35-yard touchdown to French. Kade Russell added a 5-yard reception as well.
Defensively, Karter Keel and Brayden Caine recovered fumbles, while Beck nabbed an interception.
Throckmorton thus far in 2025 has suffered losses to Bluff Dale, 59-0; Harrold, 80-30; and Bryson, 58-12.

The Coleman Bluecats will look to snap a three-game skid in their final tune-up prior to District 5-2A Division I action as they battle the Class 2A Division II No. 10 Collinsville Pirates in neutral site action.
Coleman was upended by Cisco, 23-14, last week as the Bluecats came up short despite owning a 242-135 edge in total yards. Coleman passed for 142 yards and rushed for 100 with a pair of turnovers, while allowing 88 yards on the ground and 47 through the air.
Paul Salas rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown for Coleman, while Hunter Edington connected on 9 of 17 passes for 142 yards and a scoring toss of 14 yards to Jason Strickland.
Micah Lackey and Jayden Smith both finished with two receptions for 40 yards, Kyle Chambers added two grabs for 26 yards and Braylen Stewart contributed a 32-yard carry.
Defensively for the Bluecats, Lackey, Darren Hurtado, Easton Meador and Gio Villanueva led the way with 10 tackles, followed by nine from Salas.
Collinsville has chalked up victories over Tioga, 36-20; Cooper, 14-0; and Wolfe City, 42-14. The lone loss for the Pirates came against Callisburg, 41-27.
Standouts for the Pirates include quarterbacks Paxton Davidson (473 passing yards, 5 TDs; 371 rushing yards, TD; 4-88, 2 TDs receiving) and JJ Jenkins (245 passing yards, 3 TDs), running back Chase Sheppard (150 rushing yards, TD), and receivers Chad Davidson (21-372, 2 TDs), and Jaxon Spivey (12-122, TD).

The San Saba Armadillos are targeting back-to-back victories for the first time in 2025 as they welcome the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday night.
San Saba evened its season record with a 56-7 victory at Katy St. John XXIII this past Friday as the Armadillos produced 491 yards of total offense, with 463 of those yards coming on the ground.
Luke Tharp rushed for 296 yards and four touchdowns and also completed 2 of 6 passes for 25 yards, while Jason Everett tacked on 44 yards rushing and two scores, Clayton Meador added 45 yards on the ground and a touchdown, and Jayden Aguirre contributed 34 yards and reached the end zone once.
Brandon Gonzales caught a 24-yard pass for the Armadillos while Everett added a 3-yard catch and Cash Bryant caught a 1-yard pass.
Defensively for the Armadillos, Danny English’s 12 tackles were a team-high trailed by Meador with 11, Kolton Pierce with seven, and Melvin Umble with six. Tharp and Juan Patino recovered fumbles for San Saba’s two defensive takeaways.
Hamilton’s lone blemish this season is a 14-12 loss to Crawford with victories over Millsap, 35-6; Early, 34-0; and Clifton, 42-7.
In last week’s win over Clifton, Hamilton amassed 419 yards – 245 rushing and 174 passing – and allowed 255 yards – 180 on the ground and 75 through the air. Carson Roberts passed for 178 yards and three touchdowns and added 59 yards on the ground, while defensive standouts were Easton Marwitz with 15 tackles and four for loss, along with Grant Bauman with 12 tackles, five for loss and a sack.

After a week off, the Goldthwaite Eagles and the Class 2A Division II No. 8 Chilton Pirates square off in the District 10-2A Division II opener for both teams.
Goldthwaite’s most recent action was a 49-34 home win over San Saba in the 108th Battle of the River on Sept. 12, as the Eagles finished with 443 yards of total offense – 367 on the ground and 76 through the air – with only one turnover.
Quarterback Aidyn Lee rushed for 119 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 76 yards and another score, while Landry Sanderson generated 170 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Casen Wiedebusch caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 1-yard plunge.
Max Storm chipped in 44 rushing yards and an 18-yard catch, Owen Campbell rushed for 25 yards, and Zach Rodriguez caught two passes for 13 yards and added an 8-yard carry.
Defensively, the Eagles surrendered 419 total yards, including 385 rushing, but created a pair of turnovers.
Chilton has started its season with victories over Hearne, 32-12; Italy, 46-0; and Marlin, 37-0.

The Cross Plains Buffaloes will attempt to enter District 7-2A Division II action on a positive note and keep the Sterling City Eagles winless when the two teams clash Friday night.
Cross Plains is coming off a 66-6 loss to Merkel as the Buffaloes managed 211 yards of total offense – 191 rushing and 20 passing – with four turnovers, while giving up 452 yards – 227 air yards and 225 ground yards – with one takeaway.
Tyler Mackey rushed for 107 yards and the Buffalo touchdown while Kye Schuman chipped in 55 yards on the ground and 20 yards passing. Rylan Reed finished with two grabs for 20 yards, Kevin Hopkins added 19 yards rushing and Jaedon Bradford contributed 17 yards on the ground.
Defensively for Cross Plains, Jessey Bradford notched 10 tackles with one for loss, along with four from Schuman, three from Jaedon Bradford and Landry Savell intercepted a pass.
Sterling City has suffered losses to Odessa Compass Academy, 49-7; Miles, 20-0; Winters, 24-14; and Christoval, 46-19.

Two teams in search of their second win of the season cross paths as the Santa Anna Mountaineers host the Priddy Pirates Friday night.
Santa Anna is coming off a 68-0 loss to Blanket in which the Mountaineers mustered just 61 total yards and turned the ball over three times.
The week prior, however, Santa Anna notched its lone victory, 41-0 over Ranger, as the Mountaineers manufactured 357 total yards – 217 rushing and 140 passing – as Brock Brown passed for 95 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremiah Davila threw for 45 yards with a score as well. Jayden Gibson added 181 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and Jordan Diggs chipped in 36 rushing yards with a trip to the end zone. Davila caught three passes for 49 yards with touchdowns of 34 and 14 yards, Kain Watson grabbed four receptions for 55 yards with a 34-yard score, and Donovan Jackson pulled down three catches for 32 yards and scored from 19 yards out.
Defensively for the Mountaineers, Watson led the team with 11 tackles and three fumble recoveries, while Tony Blaine added 11 tackles as well, Brown finished with eight, Khian Lewis notched six, and Davila, Diggs and Eddie York totaled five tackles apiece, with York also recovering a fumble.
Priddy’s lone win of the season came against the Rocksprings JV, 38-28, with losses against Panther Creek, 46-0; Trent, 57-8; and Gustine, 48-0.

Fresh off their first victory of the season, the Mullin Bulldogs target a win streak as they take a trip to Ranger Friday.
Mullin rolled to a 46-0 victory over Moran last week as it racked up 217 yards of total offense – 185 rushing and 32 passing – while the defense recovered a pair of fumbles.
Aaron Porter finished with 70 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while Toby Kuhn passed for 32 yards, with a 23-yard touchdown to Jaidan Langford. Vash Langford rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown, Johnathan Armendarez tacked on a 6-yard touchdown run, and Isaiah Pledger scored on a 1-yard carry. Chandler Moreno added 33 yards on the ground and a 9-yard catch, and Mani Morales finished with 23 yards rushing.
Defensively, Morales led Mullin with 6.5 tackles and a fumble recovery, Moreno logged three tackles, and Lucas Cook tallied 1.5 tackles and forced a fumble.

The Panther Creek Panthers look for consecutive victories for the second time in 2025 as they travel to face the Paint Creek Pirates.
Panther Creek is coming off a 47-0 triumph over Lueders-Avoca as the Panthers produced 242 total yards – 153 rushing and 89 through the air – while yielding negative -25 total yards – 34 passing and minus -59 rushing.
Caleb Storey led the Panthers with 127 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, while Adan Wyatt tacked on 34 rushing yards and a score.
Through the air, Caleb Hale connected on 3 of 9 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown and Storey added a 27-yard scoring toss on his lone attempt.
Blayde Wilber finished with two catches for 57 yards with a touchdown, and Storey hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass.

The Rising Star Wildcats will attempt to halt a two-game skid as they host the Gorman Panthers for homecoming.
The Wildcats are coming off a 56-8 loss to Hermleigh as JV Kelly rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, caught two passes for 41 yards, and passed for 12 yards. Chance Wells added 25 yards rushing and three catches for 17 yards, Anthony Pollard passed for 52 yards and rushed for 7, and Leland Schenk caught a 5-yard pass.
Defensively, the Wildcats received three tackles each from Kelly and Kason McGinn, two apiece from Schenk and Juakeen Froese, and one each by Wells and Pollard.
