Danny “Big Dan” Garcia, 67, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Brownwood, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brownwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Brownwood Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Weatherly of Greater Faith Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Danny was born on December 2, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, to parents Daniel and Nellie Garcia. He grew up in La Puente, California, where he received his primary education. His family later moved to Texas, and it was in Brownwood where Danny married Ampara Salazar. Together they raised their family.

Danny worked for many years as a cement contractor and later enjoyed traveling the country as a truck driver. In his later years, he found joy working at Home Depot, where he became well known for his gracious smile and his willingness to help anyone with their home needs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Nellie Garcia. He is survived by his two daughters, Monica “Mona” Garcia and Claudia Garcia; his grandson, John Anthony Montgomery; his siblings, Larry Garcia, Andrew Garcia, and Lisa (Chris) Clark; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

The family of Danny Garcia wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Solaris Hospice and to all who cared for him and stood by him during his final days.

“He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
