Doris Elane Slone, 86, of Rochelle TX, passed from this life September 20, 2025, in Brownwood TX. The family has entrusted Heartland Funeral and Cremation Services of Comanche with assisting in honoring her life at a graveside service at the Union Cemetery in Gustine at 11:30 am, Monday September 22, 2025, with Bro Bill Slaymaker officiating. The family invites friends to visitation from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the funeral home in Comanche TX.

Elane was born March 5, 1939, to Theodore Roy and Doris (Gibson) Coker in Lincoln County, New Mexico. She attended school and graduated from High School. She and Claude J Slone were married October 9, 1955, in Via Acuna, Mexico and celebrated 67 years of marriage. She was a homemaker who raised her children and took care of the family’s needs. Elane also managed greenhouses and helped run the Lone Star Camp Grocery Store. Her interests included raising plants and ferns, sewing, feeding and enjoying hummingbirds, computer time, and spending time with the family. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Elane is survived by her son, Bobby Slone and wife Kim, and her daughter, Cynthia Kras; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude J Sloan; daughter, Melani Burkhart; brother, Teddy Coker.
