
PEASTER – The Early Longhorns’ three-week road swing ended without a victory, as the Peaster Greyhounds remained undefeated on the season following a 52-14 decision Friday night.
Early (1-3) finished with 217 yards of total offense – 112 passing and 105 rushing – while Peaster (4-0) created four Longhorn turnovers.
Quarterback Caden Wilson completed 5 for 13 passes for 105 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and also rushed for a team-high 54 yards and another score.
Andrew Reedy caught two passes for 89 yards and scored once, Stone Ratliff added two receptions for 21 yards, and Brandon Walker also hauled in a pass for a 5-yard loss.
On the ground, Cameron Love tacked on 27 yards while Ratliff rushed for 12, Isaac Ibarra chipped in 11, and Walker contributed 8 yards rushing.
Defensively for the Longhorns, Brayden Schafer tallied a team-high 11 tackles followed by 10 each from Wilson and Angel Marquez, eight from Mario Vasquez, and seven by Brenner Rasor. Marquez also intercepted a pass for the lone takeaway by the Early defense.
Early is back at Longhorn Stadium next week for homecoming as it hosts Comanche (2-2), which is coming off a 36-33 victory over Tolar.
