
Blanket (2-1) at Santa Anna (1-2)

The Blanket Tigers are setting their sights on a third consecutive victory, while the Santa Anna Mountaineers looks to rebound off their first win of the season last week.
Blanket is a coming off a 65-20 triumph at Evant this past Friday as the Tigers rushed for 383 of its 396 yards against Evant (1-2), with Kannon Kensing generating 292 yards and seven touchdowns on just 12 carries. Mason Beck tacked on 91 yards and two scores on only five rushes. Through the air, AC French completed 1 of 3 passes for 13 yards, with Brian Shannon grabbing the reception.
Defensively for the Tigers, Beck led the way with 18 tackles followed by Kensing with 14 and a fumble recovery, Shannon with 11 and a fumble recovery, and French and Abel McLaughlin with nine tackles each.
Santa Anna, meanwhile, notched its first victory over Ranger, 41-0, last week as the Mountaineers manufactured 357 total yards – 217 rushing and 140 passing.
Brock Brown passed for 95 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremiah Davila threw for 45 yards with a score as well. Jayden Gibson added 181 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and Jordan Diggs chipped in 36 rushing yards with a trip to the end zone. Davila caught three passes for 49 yards with touchdowns of 34 and 14 yards, Kain Watson grabbed four receptions for 55 yards with a 34-yard score, and Donovan Jackson pulled down three catches for 32 yards and scored from 19 yards out.
Defensively for the Mountaineers, Watson led the team with 11 tackles and three fumble recoveries, while Tony Blaine added 11 tackles as well, Brown finished with eight, Khian Lewis notched six, and Davila, Diggs and Eddie York totaled five tackles apiece, with York also recovering a fumble.

In a battle of Class A Division I Top 10 squads, the No. 3 May Tigers will attempt to earn consecutive victories for the first time in 2025, and hand the No. 8 Newcastle Bobcats their first defeat in the process.
May rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 63-8 thrashing of Rochelle last week.
Standouts for the Tigers included Lane Goodson with 69 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with seven tackles; Maddix Raffel with 44 rushing yards and a touchdown, seven tackles and an interception return for a touchdown; Kobey Morris with 36 rushing yards and a touchdown, three tackles, an interception return for a touchdown and a fumble recovery; Mikey Scheriger with 62 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns, 11 tackles and a forced fumble; Kayden Psencik with 24 rushing yards and a touchdown to go along with two tackles; Jackson Lusk with five tackles; Kaden Watkins with three tackles; and Brody Stice with two tackles.
Newcastle – which returns five offensive and six defensive starters from a 5-6 playoff team a year ago – has yet to allow a point this year, shutting out Iredell, Crowell and Gold-Burg a combined 182-0.
Players to watch for the Bobcats include London Martinez, Mikey Soito, Tristan Clemons, Keyton Newland, Jacob Omundi, Rylan Hinojosa, Cooper Clayton, Keegan Voyles, and Ryder Ebert.

Zephyr (3-0) at Lingleville (0-3)

The Zephyr Bulldogs are out to keep their flawless record intact, and keep the Lingleville Cardinals out of the win column as the two teams clash Friday night.
The Bulldogs took care of Gorman, 59-10, in Week 3 as Zephyr amassed 383 yards of total offense – 252 rushing and 131 rushing – and scored eight offensive touchdowns.
Chayden Woodcock rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns and added an 18-yard scoring reception; Quayde Heard passed for 79 yards and two scores, added 44 yards on the ground, and caught two passes for 40 yards with a touchdown; Spencer Marwitz threw for 74 yards and a score; Jetson Gowin chipped in 58 yards rushing with a trip to the end zone; and Bauer Blair caught a 26-yard touchdown pass.
Defensively for the Bulldogs, Woodcock led the team with 12 tackles trailed by Ryan Glossan with nine, Gowin with eight, Reid Hamm with six, Ethan Prochaska with five, and Blair with four tackles.
Lingleville has been outscored in its three losses to Stephenville Faith, Rising Star and Kopperl by a combined score of 167-6.

The Brookesmith Mustangs will attempt to string together their first win streak of 2025 as they welcome the Paint Rock Indians for homecoming.
The Mustangs strolled to a 67-6 victory over Moran on Saturday as Brookesmith finished with 259 yards of total offense – 211 rushing and 48 passing – and seven players crossed the goal line. Defensively, the Mustangs allowed just 43 yards – 58 passing and -15 rushing – and forced four turnovers.
Addy Heard rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns of 42, 7, and 36 yards for the Mustangs; Jace Julien ran for 16 yards and a touchdown and caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Austin Loyd, who finished with 48 yards passing and added 35 yards on the ground with scores from 3 and 20 yards out.
Blake Loyd finished with 9 yards rushing and a 2-yard touchdown, Aryn Ribble scored on a 6-yard carry, and Brody Isbell added a 5-yard touchdown run. Skylar Manous also rushed for 24 yards, and Robert Eachus grabbed a 25-yard reception.
Defensively, Austin Loyd intercepted a pair of passes while Heard and Blake Loyd recovered fumbles for Brookesmith.
Paint Rock’s season thus far has featured wins over Loraine (51-46) and Olfen (60-14) after an opening loss to Eden (50-0).

Fresh off their first victory of the season, the Comanche Indians seek to start win streak and halt the Tolar Rattlers’ string of consecutive victories at two.
In Comanche’s 42-14 triumph over Eastland, the Indians finished with 278 yards of total offense – 167 rushing and 111 passing.
Ladanian Smith rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Zaden Tello tacked on 72 yards and a pair of scores on the ground. Quarterback Cooper Welch connected on 4 of 8 passes for 111 yards with two touchdown passes to CT Buford totaling 91 yards. Dallas Gillette (12 yards) and Fernando Patino (8 yards) also caught passes.
Defensively for the Indians, Smith finished with 13 tackles; Peyton Baugh collected 12 tackles and recovered a fumble; Tello also tallied 12 tackles; Carlos Orozo collected 11 tackles; Damian Aguilar netted 10 tackles; and Buford recovered a fumble to go with five tackles.
Tolar dropped its season opener to Peaster, 34-0, but has since chalked up wins of 13-12 over Teague and 42-18 over Millsap.
The Rattlers are led by quarterback Briton Rice (286 passing yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs; 20 rushing yards, TD), running back Kelvin Murray (340 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and receivers Noah Boulanger (9-96, TD) and Dacen Watkins (7-97, TD).

The Coleman Bluecats look to bring a two-game losing streak to an end as they face a Cisco Loboes squad that is targeting a third consecutive victory.
In a 50-9 loss to Mason last week, Coleman was held to just 126 yards of total offense – 83 passing and 43 rushing – with three turnovers.
Jayden Smith accounted for the only Bluecats’ touchdown on a 90-yard kick return, and Sam Pitts kicked a 26-yard field goal.
Hunter Edington completed 6 of 15 passes for 83 yards with three interceptions, as Braylon Stewart caught four passes for 31 yards, Brayden Torres grabbed a 34-yard reception and Paul Salas hauled in an 18-yard catch, and also rushed for a team-best 51 yards.
Defensively for the Bluecats, Darren Hurtado recorded 11 tackles trailed by Salas and Easton Meador with nine each, Gio Villanueva with eight, and Jett Black and Lane Bowers with seven apiece.
After suffering a 33-13 opening loss to Clyde, Cisco has responded with victories over 39-6 over San Angelo TLCA and 18-14 over Breckenridge.
Quarterback Colby McIlory has thrown for 358 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, and rushed for 224 yards and three more scores. Leading receivers are Canon Harris (9-195, TD) and Carter Toof (7-88, 2 TDs), while Cody Gayle (121 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and Noaa Hernandez (88 rushing yards, 2 TDs) are threats out of the backfield.

The San Saba Armadillos are taking a 480-mile road trip to Katy Friday looking to snap a two-game skid against the Lions of St. John XXXII Prep.
San Saba is coming off a 49-34 loss to rival Goldthwaite in the 108th Battle of the River as the Armadillos compiled 419 total yards, including 385 rushing, but turned over the ball twice.
Jason Everett rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns, and Luke Sharp added 144 yards on the ground and pair of scores, with a 34-yard scoring toss to Danny English. Graden Lebow tacked on 11 rushing yards with a trip to the end zone as well.
Defensively, San Saba surrendered 443 yards of total offense – 367 on the ground and 76 through the air – with one takeaway. Tharp also led San Saba with 13 tackles and Jayden Aguirre intercepted a pass.
St. John returns seven offensive and five defensive starters from a 4-6 team a year ago.
Players to watch include receiver/defensive back Micah Cohen, receiver/linebacker Nate Sero, receiver/defensive back Ethan Malinowski, running back/linebacker Ethan Quinton, tight end/linebacker Caden Mouton, and running back/defensive back Anthony Villarreal.

Cross Plains (1-2) at Merkel (2-1)

The Cross Plains Buffaloes will attempt to level their season record and dish out a second straight loss to the Merkel Badgers, who they visit Friday night.
The Buffaloes are looking to rebound from last week’s 28-13 loss to Hico as Cross Plains manufactured 208 yards of total offense, with 198 coming on the ground, while allowing 414 yards, including 310 rushing.
The Buffaloes received 116 yards rushing and a touchdown from Tyler Mackey, and 57 yards and a score from Kye Schuman.
Defensively for the Buffaloes, Colter Wedeking recorded nine tackles and a fumble recovery. Brody Harris also logged nine tackles followed by six each from Kevin Hopkins and Mackey, and five from Schuman.
Merkel suffered its first loss of the season last week, 51-34 to Hawley, after defeating Bangs, 29-26, and Ballinger, 38-26, to start the season.
Easton Malone has connected on 42 of 67 passes for 634 yards with 10 touchdowns for the Badgers, and also rushed for a team-high 151 yards with two more scores. Leading receivers are Kaden Blubaugh (14-312, 5 TDs), Rayson Houston (9-161, 4 TDs) and Mayson Prieto (7-94, TD).

The Class A Division II No. 3 Richland Springs Coyotes target a third win a row as they make their longest road trip of the regular season to Bryan St. Joseph.
Richland Springs needed just 179 total yards en route to a 54-8 victory over Nueces Canyon last week, as the Coyotes rushed for 106 yards and passed for 73.
On the ground, Cohen Ethridge rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown, Billy Perry added 42 yards and a trip to the end zone, Trendon Vogel tallied 15 yards and a touchdown, and Eli Hutchins crossed the goal line from 1 yard out.
Through the air, Ethridge tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Deeds, then Ethan Deeds hurled a 45-yard scoring toss to Ethridge, and Perry pitched a 15-yard score to Evan Deeds.
Defensively for the Coyotes, Rush Norris logged five tackles trailed by Ethan Deeds and Evan Deeds with four each, and Perry with three.
St. Joseph is coming off a 60-14 loss to Coolidge and was also defeated by Huntsville Alpha Omega Academy, 61-6, with its lone win coming against Baytown Faith Leadership Academy, 49-0.
St. Joseph returns two starters on each side of the ball from a 6-6 team a year ago, as players to watch include Colton Bundick (1,142 receiving yards, 29 TDs in 2024) and Aidan Cruz (2,600 passing yards, 52 TDs in 2024).

The Rising Star Wildcats are looking to rebound from their first loss of the season and return to the win column as the Hermleigh Cardinals come to town.
Rising Star was upended for the first time in 2025 by Perrin-Whitt, 50-38, last week as offensive standouts for the Wildcats were JV Kelly with 165 rushing yards and one touchdown, and 136 passing yards and two touchdowns; Anthony Pollard with 54 yards passing and a touchdown and 4 rushing yards and a score; Chance Wells with three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown; Leland Schenk with two grabs for 60 yards and a trip to the end zone; and Kaiden Griffith with three catches for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Leading the way defensively against Perrin-Whitt (2-1) were Kason McGinn with 17 tackles; Pollard with 13; Schenk with eight tackles and a fumble recovery; Wells with eight tackles and three for loss; Kelly with eight tackles; and Juakeen Froese with five tackles.
Hermleigh has alternated wins and losses thus far with victories over Sands (46-29) and Loraine (51-6) and setback to Class A Division I No. 2 Water Valley (56-8).

Since a season-opening 22-6 win over the Strawn JV, Sidney has fallen to Eden, 28-14, and Stephenville Faith, 30-20.
Meanwhile, Bluff Dale owns victories over Throckmorton (59-0) and Covington (68-18), with a narrow loss to Class A Division II No. 4 Oglesby (50-45).

Panther Creek (2-1) at Lueders-Avoca (1-2)
7:30 p.m. Friday
The Panther Creek Panthers will attempt to shake off a loss to the No. 2 ranked Class A Division I team in the state and return to the win column as they venture to the Lueders-Avoca Raiders.
In the 61-6 loss to Water Valley last week, Panther Creek was limited to 25 yards of total offense – 78 passing and -53 rushing.
Caleb Hale completed 7 of 14 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, as Caleb Storey grabbed three receptions for 53 yards and Adan Wyatt hauled in four receptions for 25 yards with a trip to the end zone.
Storey also led Panther Creek with three tackles and Trevor Brooks tallied a sack.
Lueders-Avoca routed Moran, 54-0, in its season opener and has since fallen to Lohn, 54-44, and Chillicothe, 46-0.
The Raiders return all six starters on each side of the ball from an 0-10 team last year, including Justin Stewart, Rope Hicks, Addison Neatherlin, and Levi McCarter.

In a clash of two teams seeking their first victory of 2025, the Mullin Bulldogs visit the Moran Bulldogs Friday night.
Mullin came up short against Buckholts, 38-15, last week, while Moran was trounced by Brookesmith, 67-6.
Mullin’s best offensive performance of the season came two weeks ago in a 49-42 loss to Panther Creek as the Bulldogs finished with 217 yards total yards – 113 rushing and 104 passing – with six turnovers.
Mani Morales passed for 97 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 54 yards; Vash Langford rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 51 yards; Jaidan Langford grabbed five catches for 28 yards and scored once; and Johnathan Armendarez hauled in a 26-yard reception.
Defensively for the Bulldogs, Chandler Moreno notched six tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown, while Morales logged five tackles.
